These terms and conditions will apply to all quotations, offers, activities, orders, agreements and deliveries of services or products by or on behalf of Melsiefera Studio. 2. The parties expressly exclude the applicability of supplementary and/or deviating general terms and conditions of the customer or of third parties. Prices 1. Payments and payment term 1. Melsiefera Studio may, at the conclusion of the agreement, require a down payment of up to 50% of the agreed amount. 2. The customer must have paid the full amount within 14 days, after delivery. 3. Payment terms are considered as fatal payment terms. This means that if the customer has not paid the agreed amount at the latest on the last day of the payment term, he is legally in default, without Melsiefera Studio having to send the customer a reminder or to put him in default. 4. Melsiefera Studio reserves the right to make a delivery conditional upon immediate payment or to require adequate security for the total amount of the services or products. Consequences of late payment 1. If the customer does not pay within the agreed term, Melsiefera Studio is entitled to charge an interest of 2% per month for non-commercial transactions from the day the customer is in default, whereby a part of a month is counted for a whole month. 2. When the customer is in default, he is also due to extrajudicial collection costs and may be obliged to pay any compensation to Melsiefera Studio. 3. The collection costs are calculated on the basis of the Reimbursement for extrajudicial collection costs. 4. If the customer does not pay on time, Melsiefera Studio may suspend its obligations until the customer has met his payment obligation. 5. In the event of liquidation, bankruptcy, attachment or suspension of payment on behalf of the customer, the claims of Melsiefera Studio on the customer are immediately due and payable. 6. As soon as the customer is in default, Melsiefera Studio is entitled to invoke the right of recovery with regard to the unpaid products delivered to the customer. 2. Melsiefera Studio invokes the right of recovery by means of a written or electronic announcement. 3. As soon as the customer has been informed of the claimed right of recovery, the customer must immediately return the products concerned to Melsiefera Studio, unless the parties agree to make other arrangements about this. 4. The costs for the collection or return of the products are at the expense of the customer. Right of withdrawal 1. A consumer may cancel an online purchase during a cooling-off period of 14 days without giving any reason, provided that: the product has not been used it is not a product that can spoil quickly, like food or flowers the product is not specially tailored for the consumer or adapted to its special needs it is not a product that may not be returned for hygienic reasons (underwear, swimwear, etc.) the seal is still intact, when the product is a data carrier with digital content (DVDs, CDs, etc.) the product is not a (holiday)trip, a transportation ticket, a catering order or a form of leisure activity, the product is not a separate magazine or a loose newspaper the consumer has not renounced his right of withdrawal 2. The right of retention of title also applies on the basis of previous agreements from which the customer still owes payments to Melsiefera Studio. 3. Melsiefera Studio is never liable for any damage that the customer may suffer as a result of using his right of retention of title. Settlement The customer waives his right to settle any debt to Melsiefera Studio with any claim on Melsiefera Studio. Retention of title 1. Melsiefera Studio remains the owner of all delivered products until the customer has fully complied with all its payment obligations with regard to Melsiefera Studio under whatever agreement with Melsiefera Studio including of claims regarding the shortcomings in the performance. 2. Until then, Melsiefera Studio can invoke its retention of title and take back the goods. 3. Before the property is transferred to the customer, the customer may not pledge, sell, dispose of or otherwise encumber the products. 4. If Melsiefera Studio invokes its retention of title, the agreement will be dissolved and Melsiefera Studio has the right to claim compensation, lost profits and interest. Delivery 1. Delivery takes place while stocks last. 2. Delivery takes place at Melsiefera Studio unless the parties have agreed upon otherwise. 3. Delivery of products ordered online takes place at the address indicated by the customer. 4. If the agreed price is not paid on time, Melsiefera Studio has the right to suspend its obligations until the agreed price is fully paid. 5. In the event of late payment, the customer is automatically in default, and hereby he cannot object to late delivery by Melsiefera Studio. Delivery period 1. Any delivery period specified by Melsiefera Studio is indicative and does not give the customer the right to dissolution or compensation if this period is not met with, unless the parties have expressly agreed otherwise in writing. 2. The delivery starts once the customer has fully completed the (electronic) ordering process and received an (electronic) confirmation of his order from Melsiefera Studio. 3. Exceeding the specified delivery period does not entitle the customer to compensation or the right to terminate the contract, unless Melsiefera Studio cannot deliver within 14 days after the customer has urged him to do so in writing or if the parties have agreed upon otherwise. Actual delivery The customer must ensure that the actual delivery of the products ordered by him can take place in time. Transport costs Transport costs are paid by the customer, unless the parties have agreed upon otherwise. Packaging and shipping 1. If the package of a delivered product is opened or damaged, the customer must have a note drawn up by the forwarder or delivery person before receiving the product. In the absence of which Melsiefera Studio may not be held liable for any damage. 2. If the customer himself takes care of the transport of a product, he must report any visible damage to products or the packaging prior to the transport to Melsiefera Studio, failing which Melsiefera Studio cannot be held liable for any damage. Insurance Storage 1. If the customer orders products later than the agreed delivery date, the risk of any quality loss is entirely for the customer. 2. Any extra costs because of premature or late purchase of products are entirely at the customer's expense. Guarantee 1. The warranty relating to products only applies to defects caused by faulty manufacture, construction or material. 2. The warranty does not apply in the event of normal wear and tear and damage resulting from accidents, changes made to the product, negligence or improper use by the customer, or when the cause of the defect cannot clearly be established. 3. The risk of loss, damage or theft of the products that are the subject of an agreement between the parties, will pass on to the customer when these products are legally and/or factually delivered, at least are in the power of the customer or of a third party who receives the product for the benefit of the customer. Indemnity The customer indemnifies Melsiefera Studio against all third-party claims that are related to the products and/or services supplied by Melsiefera Studio. Complaints 1. The customer must examine a product or service provided by Melsiefera Studio as soon as possible for possible shortcomings. 2. If a delivered product or service does not comply with what the customer could reasonably expect from the agreement, the customer must inform Melsiefera Studio of this as soon as possible, but in any case within 1 month after the discovery of the shortcomings. 3. Consumers must inform Melsiefera Studio of this within two months after detection of the shortcomings. 4. The customer gives a detailed description as possible of the shortcomings, so that Melsiefera Studio is able to respond adequately. 5. The customer must demonstrate that the complaint relates to an agreement between the parties. 6. If a complaint relates to ongoing work, this can in any case not lead to Melsiefera Studio being forced to perform other work than has been agreed. Giving notice 1. The customer must provide any notice of default to Melsiefera Studio in writing. 2. It is the responsibility of the customer that a notice of default reaches Melsiefera Studio (in time). Joint and several Client liabilities If Melsiefera Studio enters into an agreement with several customers, each of them shall be jointly and severally liable for the full amounts due to Melsiefera Studio under that agreement. Liability of Melsiefera Studio 1. Melsiefera Studio is only liable for any damage the customer suffers if and insofar as this damage is caused by intent or gross negligence. 2. If Melsiefera Studio is liable for any damage, it is only liable for direct damages that results from or is related to the execution of an agreement. 3. Melsiefera Studio is never liable for indirect damages, such as consequential loss, lost profit, lost savings or damage to third parties. 4. If Melsiefera Studio is liable, its liability is limited to the amount paid by a closed (professional) liability insurance and in the absence of (full) payment by an insurance company of the damages the amount of the liability is limited to the (part of the) invoice to which the liability relates. 5. All images, photos, colors, drawings, descriptions on the website or in a catalog are only indicative and are only approximate and cannot lead to any compensation and/or (partial) dissolution of the agreement and/or suspension of any obligation. Expiry period Every right of the customer to compensation from Melsiefera Studio shall, in any case, expire within 12 months after the event from which the liability arises directly or indirectly. This does not exclude the provisions in article 6:89 Dutch Civil Code. Dissolution 1. The customer has the right to dissolve the agreement if Melsiefera Studio imputably fails in the fulfillment of his obligations, unless this shortcoming does not justify termination due to its special nature or because it is of minor significance. 2. If the fulfillment of the obligations by Melsiefera Studio is not permanent or temporarily impossible, dissolution can only take place after Melsiefera Studio is in default. 3. Melsiefera Studio has the right to dissolve the agreement with the customer, if the customer does not fully or timely fulfill his obligations under the agreement, or if circumstances give Melsiefera Studio good grounds to fear that the customer will not be able to fulfill his obligations properly. Force majeure 1. In addition to the provisions of article 6:75 Dutch Civil Code, a shortcoming of Melsiefera Studio in the fulfillment of any obligation to the customer cannot be attributed to Melsiefera Studio in any situation independent of the will of Melsiefera Studio, when the fulfillment of its obligations towards the customer is prevented in whole or in part or when the fulfillment of its obligations cannot reasonably be required from Melsiefera Studio. 2. The force majeure situation referred to in paragraph 1 is also applicable - but not limited to: state of emergency (such as civil war, insurrection, riots, natural disasters, etc.); defaults and force majeure of suppliers, deliverymen or other third parties; unexpected disturbances of power, electricity, internet, computer or telecoms; computer viruses, strikes, government measures, unforeseen transport problems, bad weather conditions and work stoppages. 3. If a situation of force majeure arises as a result of which Melsiefera Studio cannot fulfill one or more obligations towards the customer, these obligations will be suspended until Melsiefera Studio can comply with it. 4. From the moment that a force majeure situation has lasted at least 30 calendar days, both parties may dissolve the agreement in writing in whole or in part. 5. Melsiefera Studio does not owe any (damage) compensation in a situation of force majeure, even if it has obtained any advantages as a result of the force majeure situation. Modification of the agreement If, after the conclusion of the agreement and before its implementation, it appears necessary to change or supplement its contents, the parties shall timely and in mutual consultation adjust the agreement accordingly. Changes in the general terms and conditions 1. Melsiefera Studio is entitled to amend or supplement these general terms and conditions. 2. Changes of minor importance can be made at any time. 3. Major changes in content will be discussed by Melsiefera Studio with the customer in advance as much as possible. 4. Consumers are entitled to cancel the agreement in the event of a substantial change to the general terms and conditions. Transfer of rights 1. The customer cannot transfer its rights deferring from an agreement with Melsiefera Studio to third parties without the prior written consent of Melsiefera Studio. 2. This provision applies as a clause with a property law effect as referred to in Section 3:83 (2) Dutch Civil Code. Consequences of nullity or annullability 1. If one or more provisions of these general terms and conditions prove null or annullable, this will not affect the other provisions of these terms and conditions. 2. A provision that is null or annullable shall, in that case, be replaced by a provision that comes closest to what Melsiefera Studio had in mind when drafting the conditions on that issue. Applicable law and competent court 1. Dutch law is exclusively applicable to all agreements between the parties. 2. I think this is a shame, as there’s a lot of options available. And the best thing is, it does not have to be a major overhaul or even that expensive! In fact, awareness and small implementations are already a step towards a healthier planet. I think most people just need that little nudge in the right direction. Bee healthy! I think there’s more to being sustainable than just calculating carbon emissions or promising to plant a tree for every product made. Don’t get me wrong, these are good first steps to take, but I think we can do even better than that. We should not just be aware of our impact on the world, but also be specific and transparent about it. I want to contribute to making the world a better place, which is why I make durability and sustainability a core aspect of everything I design. This applies not just to my clients, but also myself. While designing, I take several factors in account. All products are designed and produced locally, significantly lowering the impact compared to long distance transport. Everything is made from either recycled materials or (more) sustainable materials compared to its traditional counterpart. To name a few, paper made from agricultural waste or stone waste are great alternatives, eliminating the need to cut trees and instead using materials that are already part of other processes. Design with care All products are designed and produced locally, saving on transport costs and lowering their carbon footprint. Everything is made from either recycled materials or (more) sustainable materials compared to its traditional counterpart. For example, paper products are made from agricultural waste or stone waste, eliminating the need to cut trees and instead using materials that are already part of other processes and a lot less impactful on the climate. This is all possible without impacting the quality and durability! Bee healthy! Because the environment and my impact on the planet is very important to me, I consider sustainability as a core part of the process. For all regular paper used, I make sure it's always FSC or PEFC certified, meaning it's wood from ethical sources, and in turn preventing deforestation. Before using new paper, I use recycled paper. All paper and plastics I use for my business are separated and recycled locally. Ink cartridges used for my printer are sent back to the manufacturer and are recycled. I try to do as much as I can in my own studio, but I sometimes outsource production to local suppliers, who also make sure the environment is an important element of their production. For paper products and packaging, I use alternatives to regular FSC paper. I primarily work with the following types of paper: PaperWise natural material, which is paper made only from agricultural waste produced with 100% green energy, eliminating the need to use trees and preventing deforestation. Stone paper, paper made from 80% mineral powder (Calcium Carbonate) and 20% non-toxic HDPE (a clean plastic), therefore also eliminating the use of trees and preventing deforestation. Made with lots of love and consideration Embrace your local roots All products are designed and produced locally, here in the Netherlands and neighbouring countries in Europe. Care for our hive Materials used to make products are exclusively from sustainable, certified and recycled sources. Happy trees equals happy bees Suppliers I work with plant trees to compensate for their carbon footprint during the production process! Alternatives to paper Alternatives to regular wood pulp paper are a great sustainable option, which is why I prefer using them. No honey wasted! Production is kept small in order to make sure no unnecessary resources are wasted, and prevents excessive stock.

Shipping & Returns Shipping I usually ship within 3 business days, depending on the orders and workload. I ship with PostNL (Dutch postal service) with track & trace. Delivery costs There's a shipping calculator on the shopping cart page. When you've added items to your cart it will tell you how much shipping it will cost, based on your location! Combined shipping is done automatically, based on the weight of the items. If you haven’t received your order after the estimated timeframe above, please contact me and we’ll figure it out together! Returns Sometimes you have second thoughts about a product you’ve ordered. Maybe you’re not happy with it, or it doesn’t suit your tastes. No worries, happens to all of us! No matter the reason, you can decide to return your order within 30 days after you (or someone designated by you) receives the goods. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately I can’t offer you a refund. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. After contacting me, you have an additional 30 days to ship* the order back to me. If the 30 days pass before returning, you won’t be eligible for a refund anymore, so make sure you keep your receipt from the post office. If the product is damaged or the packaging is damaged more than is necessary to try the product, we can pass on this depreciation of the product to you, so handle with care and ensure that your order is properly packaged when returned. It’s advised to return your package with a track & trace code. I’m not responsible for the order getting lost or damaged in the process! *Note: Please be aware that from a sustainable viewpoint and in order to keep my product prices reasonable, I do not cover the shipping costs of the return. Refunds After I’ve received your returned order, I’ll pay you back the original amount. In case of a full return, the original amount + shipping is paid back. In case of a partial refund, I’ll refund you the price of the product(s) you’ve returned. KAV Autoverhuur Connectcar - private car sharing Graphic design, prototyping, (technical) desktop publishing, prepress preparation Carpooling and sharing cars is a concept that has been on the rise in the last decade and is only growing more in popularity. More people than ever are living a climate-conscious lifestyle or just don’t have access to cars where they live; especially in bigger cities with limited parking space, long commutes to work with public transport and the high costs of owning a car. This is why Conncectcar was brought to life. KAV autoverhuur is one of the leading car renting companies in the Netherlands, but they are mostly well known with professional (truck) drivers and moving companies. They lacked a more direct connection with private customers who could also benefit from their renting services, and Conncectcar became the solution to that problem. Connectcar exclusively uses the Smart ForFour model as their car of choice because of its compact size. To make the concept as affordable and convenient as possible, the cars are positioned at different locations all over the city, so there’s always done close by home. The only requirement to get access to their cars is a registration through their app, and you’re off to go! After you’re done, you can park the car in the designated parking space of your choice and leave it there. It was important to design the cars with high visibility in mind, while at the same time showing potential customers the ease of using their services without using too many words. A basic principle of designing cars is limiting the amount of text, because the vehicle is a “moving” form of promotional material, so it’s highly difficult to read a lot of information in a short amount of time. The final result is a design that encapsulates both the high visibility and clear communication of the concept, quickly showing customers the ease of private car sharing through Connectcar ! Personal Project Ik Wil Ook! Illustration, storytelling, logo design, visual Design, print design, digital design Lucy’s father has a huge collection with all kinds of things on display. When she asks where he got those, her father tells her it's everything that has "emotional value." Lucy doesn't really know what her father means, but wants them too and decides to search for things that envoke certain emotions for her. Follow Lucy on this exciting, colourful, and fantasitcal journey in search for emotional value, expression and a huge collection! One of the most complex things children learn to develop is expressing their emotions and how to communicate those feelings. But what about attaching your feelings and emotions to tangible objects? Most of us have items that have sentimental value, things we don't ever want to throw away and collections we've gathered through the years, and are proud to display in our homes for all to see. "Ik wil ook! (een grote verzameling)" – translated in English: "I want that too! (a big collection)" – explores the depth and process of children's emotions in an easy to understand concept, while keeping it lighthearted and fun to discover! The Bol play book was brought to life to bring children the ultimate gift experience leading up to Sint-Niklaas. In a time where online shopping has become the norm, a paper book might come as a surprise. This was done after great consideration, since the book is aimed at a younger audience. The playbook combines offline and online design — like QR codes to scan products — which allows for a seamless transition from paper to their website, especially since prices vary from day to day and younger children might not understand the concept of pricing. Children can cut out any article they see and make their own personal collection for Sint-Niklaas or Christmas. The addition of the poster makes this a fun and interactive way to make a wishlist and is more than just a catalogue to browse through. My main tasks while working on the Speelgoedboek editions 2020 and 2021 were layout/editiorial design, collaborate and coordinate with others to ensure a coherent design, assisting with art direction by checking the pages and adhering to the brand guidelines, retouching of articles and photographs, and adding/tweaking illustrations.
